Videlka Izі Roitbak iz Kodimi

Videlka. Zvichaina sribna fork. Tableware item. This kitchen project, which happened in Shaya Roytbak’s cabin in Kodima, was lucky to survive only for her. And the current 4-year-old boy Izenko Roytbak, who, after execution in 1942, left the burial ground of the pishov jokes in hiding.

“A terrible precept for 1942.” Winter. On the 12th of today the police and Romanian gendarmes began to kick us out of Budinka. They beat women, children and the elderly with rifle butts and drove everyone away from the old hotel. On the fifth day of the year we were driven to the former church. On the way we were robbed by the local population, they took away warm speeches. Mom decided to get my six-year-old sister Tanya from the colony and hand her over to one woman. Tanechka was such a beautiful girl, my mother always loved her with the relish of her clothes, in the world of our modest capabilities. Having taken Tanechka home, this woman stayed for a couple of days, and then, having received warm speeches, drove her out onto the street at the hour of the final stage. And Tanya was killed by the Romanian gendarmes in the village of Borshchi.”

Because of my mother, I was driven out of the pit by the Jews of the place. The Romanians and the police shot at the peaceful burghers. Surprised that they were no longer alive, Mom, Izea, and Aunt Freda saw each other and went to hell. At the time of the shooting of Izi there were several fates. In this pit, my dear uncle Yukl Roytbak and his five-thousand-year-old son Suleya were forever lost to lie. His share led him to the Chechelnik ghetto, where he lived until the war. Nina lives in New York.
