The uniqueness of the Museum is that for the first time the nature of genocide as a "crime of crimes" is shown (especially relevant from the point of view of those crimes committed by the Russian invaders in Ukraine). The modern interactive space in Odessa was created according to the project of Vitalina Verbovetska, Orina Babentsova and Arina Goncharova - students of the Odessa Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, who became the winners of the competition for the creation of the museum design, which was held in December 2023. The chief architect of the project is Natalia Mezhievska, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the department of architecture of buildings and structures of the Architectural and Art Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine.
The scientific consultants of the museum were Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Holocaust Studies "Tkuma", Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, and Dr. Timur Korotkyi, vice-president of the Ukrainian Association of International Law. The authors of the information for the stands are well-known scientists of Ukraine.
