Ті, що йдуть на смерть

In 2004, a monument to the Holocaust victims, “Those Who Go to Their Deaths,” was erected by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli and architect V. Glazyrin. The bronze sculpture consists of six full-length human figures. The people stand on the edge of a ditch into which they are supposed to fall after being shot. In the foreground is a Jewish family-a man and a woman with a child in their arms. The mother is covering the child's eyes with her hand to protect him from the horror. Behind the family are three more figures of suicide bombers. On the pedestal is a bronze plaque with only 3 words engraved in three languages, Russian, Ukrainian and Hebrew: “The Holocaust - never again...”.
