Memory of the executed Jews of the village of Vesela Dolyna (Klostits)
Memory is us. And therefore, the memory of people lives exactly as long as we remember them. Almost 80 years later, we returned the memory of the executed Jews of the village of Vesela Dolyna (Klostits) to the place where their last journey began. On February 13, 2025, the Odessa Holocaust Research Center opened a monument in memory of the Jews destroyed during World War II. Among the deceased residents of the village was a large family. Five of the six children died. One girl was saved, like a sprout that sprouted through cruelty, violence, and madness. In memory of the deceased, her grandson became the main patron of this memorial project.
May their memory live on in our souls.
We would like to express our gratitude to the leadership of the Budzhak Village Council, Ivan Georgievich Kyussa, and the district elder, Olena Viktorovna Shvakova, for their active participation.
